TRESDA — Institute for Spatial Designers
TRESDA is a new institute for interior designers, architects and spatial practitioners, developing the reasoning, identity and authorship behind every design decision.
The role of the spatial designer is changing.
Advances in technology have transformed how quickly concepts can be imagined, developed and communicated. As the production of design becomes increasingly accessible, technical ability alone is no longer the defining measure of value.
What increasingly distinguishes one designer from another is their ability to think. To develop original perspectives. To make thoughtful decisions. To communicate the reasoning behind every spatial intervention. To build trust through authorship rather than output alone.
This shift calls for a different model of development. One that places identity, judgement, process and critical reflection at the centre of design education rather than treating them as qualities acquired incidentally through experience.
TRESDA was founded in response to that shift.

TRESDA is an institute for the long-term development of spatial designers, complementing both formal education and professional practice through continuous learning, reflection and community.
TRESDA's identity-led design methodology is applied to active client projects in partnership with ART 001 Design Practice Studio.
Each project brings together professional practice and design education. Fellow designers participating in these projects are TRESDA Residents, contributing to research, client interpretation and design development under the direction of ART 001.
Through this process, client work becomes a live study of how identity informs spatial decisions—from the first design conversation to the final spatial response.
